Privacy policy

You can use Insurance Calculator without an account. Submitting a worksheet sends the form entries to our server for calculation. The application returns the result to your browser and does not create a saved worksheet or customer profile.

What happens when you use a worksheet

Open a public calculator
Your browser requests the page, its styles, scripts and images. Where a worksheet includes an example, its starting figures are the same for everyone opening that page.
Enter your figures
Typing changes the fields in the open page. The calculator code does not transmit each keystroke. Use amounts and generic labels, such as “living room sofa.” Leave out names, policy numbers, addresses and identifying medical or accident details.
Calculate or submit a form action
The form sends its entries to this site to calculate the result. Depending on the worksheet, that can include benefit amounts, premiums, inventory rows or hypothetical losses from several sections. They travel in the body of an HTTP POST request. The application does not save submitted worksheets to a database.
View or share a result
Bookmarking or sharing the address opens the public worksheet. Your entries stay out of the URL. Private results ask browsers and intermediary caches to avoid storing the response using Cache-Control: private, no-store. They also ask search engines not to index it. On a shared device, close the result and check where you saved any printout, screenshot or download.

How the home inventory CSV is made

The home inventory worksheet offers two downloads. The blank template requests a public file without submitting any worksheet entries. “Download entered rows” exports the room, item, quantity, replacement unit cost and special-limit flag for your rows.

When the browser supports the local download feature and JavaScript is active, it creates the entered-row file on the device. Otherwise, the download button submits the worksheet fields to our server, which returns a CSV containing only those five inventory columns. The note beside the download button identifies which method is available in your browser.

A CSV is a separate file. Closing the worksheet or clearing this site's browser data leaves that file wherever you saved it. Check its contents before attaching it to email or storing it in a shared folder.

Theme preference and tracking

If you choose Light or Dark in the header, the site saves that choice under ic-theme in this browser’s local storage. It contains the theme setting only. Choose “Follow device” to remove the saved preference, or use your browser’s site-data controls to clear it.

The calculator application does not set tracking cookies or load advertising or third-party analytics scripts. It serves its own scripts, styles and images. Your browser may preserve page history, fill suggestions or downloads according to its own settings.

Web requests, hosting and external links

Like other websites, delivering a page involves network information such as an IP address and ordinary request details. A hosting service or reverse proxy can keep access logs with the time, requested path and response status. The calculator code does not log worksheet contents. Infrastructure logs are separate from the application, and their contents and retention depend on the hosting configuration.

Government sources and other external links open websites run by their respective operators. Those sites receive their own requests and apply their own privacy policies. The calculators do not send your form entries to an agency or insurer to retrieve a result.

If you contact the publisher

Submitting the contact form saves the time, topic, message and any page or reply address you provide in the publisher’s private inbox. The records are for reviewing and responding to reports. They aren’t published or available through a public lookup. The publisher may receive a copy by email. Leave the reply address blank if you don’t want email follow-up.

If you use the email link instead, your own email service sends the message, sender address and any attachments you include. Use made-up figures and never send a policy number, claim file or medical record through either channel.

If your question concerns an earlier message, identify it by its subject and approximate date. Keep documents and sensitive personal details out of the request. Contact Insurance Calculator.
